HR policies and procedures shouldn’t be dirty words

HR policies and procedures shouldn’t be dirty words

In fact, they should be the complete opposite—especially when they're done right. You'd be forgiven for thinking a HR framework is a fat folder (that you pay big bucks for) that ends up becoming the office's biggest dust collector. It happens all the time.

Business owners or leaders engage a consultant who develops HR policies and procedures, but they fail to communicate the true worth and value that these can have for a business. It's highly likely that the owner can’t afford to have the consultant stick around to help implement the framework—which renders it useless.

That's where I'm different. I take a personal interest in your business and your employees. Your business and people goals become my goals. I'm going to be riding the HR framework train all the way to the end… well, for as long as you need me!

Thank you again for last week. Mason and I both got SO much out of it. It was fabulous to have a moment working ON us and the business not IN the business.  Mel always makes you feel relaxed and engaged, making it conversational, so you don’t feel you’re actually working (on yourself, your business, your team). You’re just talking. And the outcomes are always positive - haven’t had a session with her yet where I haven’t learnt something about myself as a person, as a business owner and as a leader.

Is Fair Work compliance your stumbling block?

Is Fair Work compliance your stumbling block?

Do you have to say the same thing to the same people all the time? Are you frustrated with people not following the rules, or are you not even sure what the rules are? Does this leave you feeling stressed about being non-compliant with Fair Work?

Legislative requirements are tricky to interpret, which can make them difficult to implement and comply with. But it doesn't have to be that way. Imagine the relief you'd feel knowing that your business is backed by an uncomplicated, no-nonsense HR framework that ensures your compliance. One that you and your team can easily interpret so you can stay on top of your Fair Work compliance and avoid any unnecessary (and potentially costly) risks.

Well, I've got you.

Your HR policies and procedures are not focused on best practice. They’re based on which practice is best for your business.

  • Fair Work assessment

Fair Work legislation and compliance requirements trip a lot of business owners up—they’re complex and confusing. Let me assess what conditions apply to your business and relieve that headache.

  • People challenges review

Now that we know which conditions apply, we’ll figure out the people challenges you have that require HR policies and procedures.

  • Develop a balanced framework

There won’t be a single, useless, dust-collecting policy or procedure in sight. I use a balanced human resource framework to minimise risk and maximise sustainability.

  • Implementation session

I’ll walk you, your business leaders and your team through a session on understanding the HR framework that we’re implementing.

And then, out of nowhere, you're smack bang in the middle of a complicated and potentially costly HR issue.

I'm here to help you avoid this situation, to help you avoid dropping the ball while you're juggling the many commitments you have as a business owner or leader. You'll find my solutions-focused and practical approach to HR refreshing. Frequently asked questions

Yes, but I’d recommend that we review them together before we start implementation. We’ll need to assess if they’re still the right fit for your business. They need to give you the clarity and assurance you need to be compliant, and to reduce the risk of costly HR issues catching you unawares.

Of course. We’ll conduct a thorough review of the Fair Work conditions that apply to your business. From there, we’ll explore the areas where you’re non-compliant and what needs to happen next. If we need legal advice, we’ll tap into the experience of an employment lawyer.
